Producing an artwork would an easy job for an artist, however promoting their work could be a real obstacle for many whether you like it or not it is a worthwhile step in moving ahead in your career.

Let’s discuss how one can build an effective online presence by following the simple steps:

1.     Offer online workshops: Organise professional online workshops about painting techniques, sketching and drawing for your viewers. It will help you in building a more personal relationship with your audience.

2.      Participate in Art competitions: Participate in Art shows and exhibitions, one can really benefit from participating even if you do not win. It will help you in promoting your work on different platforms and will reach to a much larger audience. Entering various art shows and competitions will help you promote yourself, your story, your art and eventually your business.

3.      Be open to criticism: Be open to feedback; People are going to review the content that you are putting out online be it positive or negative. Try and use these feedback for your benefit, learn and improve from it.

4.      Be active on Social media: Being active is one of the most significant steps in order to build a stronger community online (Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram etc). Be original and consistent in posting your work, techniques, new updates etc on social media.

5.      Check in with your contacts / Network offline: Besides online engagements one should also engage in offline networking. Attend art exhibitions and shows, conferences and workshops. Support and encourage your fellow artists, build a positive relationship.
